Today's mobile phones

There are not many people who do not have a mobile phone today. It is such advancement in technology. The telephones of the past are long gone. Today’s phones can do much more. Things that they can do includes: checking email, surfing the internet, taking pictures and video, MP3 radio, GPS downloading music and ringtones, text and picture messaging, among other things. These phones are mobile devices that use cell stations and towers to perform all of their communication. Nathan B Stubblefield created the patent for the mobile phone and the rest, as they say, is history.
Nokia is currently the largest manufacturer of mobile phones today. Other manufacturers include: Samsung-mobile, Motorola, Sony, and LG. These manufacturers constitute the largest manufacturer of all of the phones produced and sold around the world. As was previously mentioned, there are many things that mobile phones are capable of other than making phone calls. One of these services included SMS text messaging. This service alone brings in around 100 billion dollars in revenue annually. The other services that are provided on cell phones account for another 37 billion dollars in revenue annually. On top of all of the things that can be done over the phone today, many companies are offering some of their services using a mobile phone. For example some websites which advertise jobs are able to send jobs over the phone through the use of text messaging. Mapquest.com even sends directions directly to your phone for you to view. The list just keeps going on and on.
Mobile phones get their power through the use of small batteries. These batteries can be charged in a number of ways. Some of these ways includes: computer’s USB port, electrical plug-in for the wall, cigarette lighter adaptor, or from a solar panel. Lithium Polymer batteries are currently the most used and most common cell phone battery out there. The mobile phone also consists of a SIM card. This card links that particular phone to the specific services that are provided. Those mobile phones that do not contain SIM cards have the programming provided in its internal memory.
